Compliance Manager | KYC / AML (6 mths contract | Foreign Bank) DT

Key Responsibilities

• Lead KYC end-to-end execution for retail, corporate, and institutional banking clients across initial onboarding, periodic updates, and trigger-based reviews.

• Evaluate and validate customer risk ratings to ensure proper risk classification and proportionate due diligence.

• Maintain and update KYC checklists, forms, and operational guidelines to align with evolving business needs and regulatory standards.

• Partner with front-office business units to resolve documentation gaps, verification hurdles, and client onboarding bottlenecks.

• Direct operational practices to comply with local and international AML/CFT laws. Support the Head of Compliance in updating policies and incorporating regulatory changes.

• Serve as a key point of contact for internal/external audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance testing exercises.

• Identify, document, and escalate potential AML risks or suspicious activities. Track and report overdue client reviews to senior leadership.

• Collaborate with IT and Operations to implement workflow enhancements, optimize systems, and maintain high data integrity.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in KYC, Client Onboarding, or AML within banking or financial services.

• Deep understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., MAS Notice 626 and international AML standards).

• Proven capability to operate effectively as both a direct manager for a small team and a hands-on individual contributor.

• Strong analytical capabilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to resolving complex compliance challenges.
