Data Centre Operations Support

Description

Monitoring and maintaining day-to-day data centre operations to ensure the facility, infrastructure and systems remain safe, secure and operational.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor data centre facilities, equipment and infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.

• Support the maintenance of data centre systems, equipment, cabling and related infrastructure.

• Coordinate maintenance activities, equipment installation and vendor support.

• Perform routine operational checks and monitor system alerts and availability.

• Support basic troubleshooting and escalate technical or operational issues when required.

• Support data centre security, access control and visitor management.

• Assist with incident reporting, backup, disaster recovery, change and access management activities.

• Maintain asset records, infrastructure documentation and operational reports.

• Record maintenance activities, incidents and other operational information.

• Support compliance requirements and ensure operational procedures and records are kept up to date.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in IT, Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline.

• Experience in data centre operations, IT infrastructure, IT operations or a technical environment.

• Basic understanding of data centre infrastructure, IT systems, security and operational processes.

• Good problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.

• Able to work with vendors and different stakeholders.

• Willing to support shift work or operational emergencies when required.

Preferred

• ITIL Foundation or equivalent.

• Data Centre, Infrastructure, Networking, Systems or Cloud certification.

• Basic knowledge of security and compliance practices.
