SAP Functional Consultant

Role Summary: Responsible for implementing and supporting SAP Finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather finance and accounting requirements.

• Configure SAP Financial Accounting and General Ledger.

• Support period-end and year-end close activities.

• Configure financial controls and reporting structures.

• Support statutory and management reporting.

• Facilitate finance process workshops.

• Prepare functional specifications.

• Perform testing and defect management.

• Support finance data migration.

• Conduct user training.

• Support integration with adjacent functions.

• Provide production support and process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with 5-15 years of relevant SAP Finance consulting experience; SAP certification(s) in SAP FI/CO, S/4HANA Finance, or related modules are highly preferred.

• Proven experience in SAP Finance processes, including General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Bank Accounting, Financial Closing, and Financial Reporting.

• Demonstrated participation in multiple full lifecycle SAP implementations, covering requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, data migration, cutover, go-live, and post-production support.

• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including financial controls, statutory reporting, management reporting, period-end and year-end close processes, and compliance requirements.

• Experience preparing functional specifications, managing testing activities (Unit Testing, SIT, UAT), supporting finance data migration, and collaborating with technical teams on enhancements, interfaces, and integrations.

• Proven ability to facilitate finance workshops, engage business stakeholders, analyse business requirements, and translate them into SAP solutions aligned with industry best practices.

• Strong understanding of integration points between SAP Finance and adjacent functional areas such as Procurement (Source-to-Pay), Sales (Order-to-Cash), Manufacturing, Inventory Management, and Project Systems.
