Carbon Trading Analyst

Duties& Responsibilities:

• Monitor global and regional carbon markets, including compliance and voluntary Carbon markets.
• Track carbon prices, market trends, policy developments, and supply-demand fundamentals.
• Develop carbon price forecasts and scenario analysis.
• Support hedging strategies for carbon-related exposures, if needed, which will entail execution and settlement of Carbon credits/ allowances.
• Keep abreast of different Carbon reduction projects and assists in assessing carbon reduction economics and payback models.
• Support environmental and social responsibility initiatives of the company tied to environmental performance and community impact.
• Monitor evolving climate regulations and carbon policies in operating jurisdictions.
• Analyse business impacts of carbon taxes, border adjustment mechanisms, fuel standards, methane regulations, and ESG disclosure rules.
• Develop quantitative models for carbon exposure and reduction scenarios.
• Produce regular reports like Carbon market updates and price outlook reports, carbon trading performance reports and carbon offset project evaluations.
• Explore how Petron can benefit from carbon market developments.
• Perform other risk management functions or other work as may be delegated by the Risk Manager.
