About this job

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and maintain strong working relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, addressing any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  2. Source, evaluate, and establish new relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure sufficient resources for all projects, while continuously improving pricing, quality, and service standards.
  3. Lead supplier and contract negotiations, with a strong understanding of commercial terms, cost structures, and competitive pricing relevant to building and construction projects.
  4. Ensure all project-related purchases are executed in a timely, accurate, flexible, and cost-effective manner in accordance with project requirements and timelines.
  5. Issue purchase orders and manage the procurement, expediting, and delivery of materials and equipment for ongoing projects.
  6. Research and evaluate alternative materials, suppliers, and products to support design requirements, cost optimization, and value engineering initiatives
  7. Develop and implement purchasing strategies and process improvements to achieve continuous cost savings, efficiency, and workflow simplification.
  8. Support strategic and operational procurement activities for various construction projects, including HDB developments, Executive Condominiums (ECs), commercial buildings, and other related projects.
  9. Assist in the resolution of invoice discrepancies, contract disputes, and supplier claims in coordination with internal stakeholders.
  10. Forecast demand for materials, services, and equipment to meet business and project needs, while monitoring inventory and stock levels to avoid shortages or excess.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline, with relevant working experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the construction industry.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.

  • Able to commence work within short notice.
