We are looking for an experienced and proactive Technical Superintendent for a growing and future-focused Singapore-based shipowner. The Technical Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical management of the company's fleet of bunker barges.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in managing small tankers or bunker barges, with strong knowledge of marine engineering systems and class/flag/state requirements. He/she must possess excellent problem-solving abilities, a hands-on approach, and the ability to work under pressure while ensuring high standards of safety and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the technical operations and maintenance of assigned bunker barges, ensuring compliance with company standards and statutory requirements.
Monitor vessel performance, PMS, repairs, and upkeep of machinery/equipment.
Prepare and monitor budgets for technical operations, including spares, drydocking, and repairs.
Plan, coordinate, and execute drydockings, including preparing docking specifications, liaising with shipyards, and monitoring project timelines and costs.
Conduct regular vessel inspections, ensuring compliance with ISM/ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS, and flag/class regulations.
Provide technical advice and support to the onboard team to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
Work closely with senior management and stakeholders to optimize fleet performance and minimize downtime.
Investigate incidents/deficiencies and implement corrective/preventive measures.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably managing bunker barges or small tankers.
Prior sailing experience as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer on tankers/bunker vessels.
Hands-on experience in dry docking, repair planning, and project management.
Strong knowledge of PMS and SMS systems.
Familiarity with statutory and class regulations for tankers/bunker barges.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work closely with crew and stakeholders.
