Assistant Logistics Manager

Ichor is looking for a hands-on and proactive Assistant Logistics Manager to support the day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations. This role will work closely with the Logistics Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient material flow, accurate inventory control, and smooth warehouse operations. The role will also support manpower management, process improvements, and the implementation of effective warehouse and inventory practices to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Logistics Manager in overseeing daily warehousing and shipping operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and timely execution of activities.
- Support the review and improvement of warehouse layout, storage practices, and material flow to optimize space utilization and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure warehouse activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, safety requirements, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and support regular cycle counts and full stock-count exercises. Investigate discrepancies and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Work closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure material availability.
- Handle escalated operational matters and maintain effective communication with internal and external partners.
- Identify and review efficiency and cost saving opportunities for warehouse process, storage space and consumables, and freight expenditure.
- Support in audits and documentation.
- Manage MHE (forklift etc) operations and safety compliance.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, inventory, or supply chain operations with experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Experience in an assembly manufacturing or semiconductor environment will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of Air/Sea Waybills, export/import documentation, customs permits, Certificates of Origin and cargo handling procedures.
- Good experience in establishing Standard Operating Procedures.
- Strong knowledge in inventory management systems and concepts.
- Strong hands-on leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Able to manage daily operational issues and make practical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to identify and drive process improvements.
- Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
