Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our Operations team. The Kitchen Assistant will support the Kitchen Supervisor and Cook(s) in the preparation and serving of quality meals while maintaining a safe, clean and hygienic kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, check and store incoming food ingredients and kitchen supplies.

• Prepare and cook rice, porridge and desserts according to the planned menu.

• Prepare meat, fish, vegetables and fruits according to the menu or instructions from the Supervisor.

• Mince, blend or puree food for residents with special dietary requirements.

• Prepare, load and clean food trays, equipment and service trolleys before and after meal delivery.

• Clean and maintain food preparation areas in accordance with hygiene and food safety standards.

• Dispose of rubbish and kitchen waste at the designated Bin Centre.

• Assist with receiving stocks and report any defects, malfunction or damage to kitchen equipment, fittings or furniture.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor or Management.

Job Requirements

• NITEC, Secondary School, SPM or GCE O-Level qualification, or equivalent.

• At least 1 year of cooking or kitchen experience, preferably in a restaurant, food service operation or hawker centre.

• Possess a valid Food Hygiene Certificate recognised by NEA.

• Willing to learn and develop new cooking and kitchen skills.

• Good team player with a positive and cooperative attitude.

• Responsible and committed to maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards.

Working Hours

6 days per week, 8 hours per day, based on duty roster.

Available shifts include:

• D0: 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• D1: 5:30 AM – 1:30 PM

• D2+: 8:15 AM – 4:15 PM

• E1: 10:45 AM – 6:45 PM

Other Information

The successful candidate will be required to work according to the operational duty roster and may be rotated across different shifts depending on operational requirements.
