Singapore Accountant

Key Responsibilities

1. Handle full sets of accounts for Singapore companies, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing.

2. Provide bookkeeping and accounting services for international and foreign-invested clients operating in Singapore.

3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

4. Prepare and submit Singapore tax and statutory filings, including GST returns, corporate income tax computations, Estimated Chargeable Income and annual tax returns.

5. Assist clients with Singapore accounting, tax registration, payroll, CPF, and related compliance matters.

6. Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, banks, government authorities, and other external service providers.

7. Review clients’ accounting documents, invoices, expense claims, bank statements, and supporting records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

8. Communicate with overseas clients and the headquarters team regarding accounting progress, outstanding documents, compliance deadlines, and financial issues.

9. Provide professional advice on Singapore accounting and tax compliance matters based on clients’ business activities.

10. Support internal process development and improve accounting service standards, templates, and operating procedures.

11. Complete other accounting and finance-related tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

- At least 3 years of accounting experience in Singapore.

- Experience handling full sets of accounts and Singapore tax compliance matters.

- Previous experience serving international clients, multinational companies, foreign-invested companies, or cross-border businesses is strongly preferred.

- Good knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, GST, corporate income tax, CPF, and statutory compliance requirements.

- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or other cloud-based accounting systems.

- Good command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate professionally with international clients.

- Strong attention to detail, responsibility, confidentiality, and deadline-management skills.

- Able to work independently and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.

- Strong client-service mindset and good cross-cultural communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- ACCA, CPA, CA Singapore, or other recognised accounting qualification.

- Experience working in an accounting firm, corporate services firm, tax firm, or international business consulting company.

- Experience with consolidated accounts, cross-border transactions, transfer pricing support, or international tax matters.

- Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese will be an advantage for coordination with the headquarters and Chinese-speaking clients.
