About the Role
The Singapore Environment Council (SEC) is seeking an accomplished and strategic Deputy Executive Director (DED) to support the Executive Director in leading and managing the organisation, driving organisational performance, operational excellence, business growth, financial sustainability, governance and people leadership.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will serve as the principal deputy to the Executive Director, providing organisation-wide leadership and ensuring the effective execution of SEC’s strategic priorities. The DED will oversee day-to-day organisational operations, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and lead strategic initiatives that enhance SEC’s impact, reputation and long-term sustainability.
As a senior leader within SEC, the DED will also play a key role in upholding strong standards of governance, accountability and stewardship expected of an Institution of a Public Character (IPC), while building organisational capabilities and fostering effective partnerships with government, industry, community and other key stakeholders.
1. Organisational Leadership & Performance
• Support the Executive Director in implementing SEC's strategic plan and organisational priorities.
• Translate Board-approved strategies into operational plans and measurable outcomes.
• Monitor organisational performance against strategic goals and KPIs.
2. Operations& Service Delivery
• Oversight of SEC operations and programme delivery.
• Ensure effective coordination and alignment across business units.
• Ensure organisational resilience and business continuity readiness.
3. Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
• Support revenue growth through certification, sustainability services, memberships and strategic partnerships.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with corporates, government agencies, donors and community partners.
• Identify opportunities for new programmes, services andfundraising aligned with SEC's mission.
4. Corporate Governance & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain effective governance frameworks, and support Board reporting requirements.
• Oversee enterprise risk management processes and internal controls.
