Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Remediation & Records Management Analyst to support a large-scale banking records remediation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inventories of physical banking records, validating and remediating data to support GDPR compliance requirements, and maintaining accurate records management documentation.

This role involves reviewing approximately 3,500 boxes of banking files and managing the inventory and remediation of approximately 2,000 data records/items, ensuring data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and proper record retention practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inventory and cataloguing of physical banking files and records across approximately 3,500 storage boxes.
  • Review, classify, and validate records in accordance with GDPR, data privacy, and internal record management policies.
  • Identify data quality issues, gaps, duplicates, or outdated records and perform appropriate remediation activities.
  • Maintain accurate tracking logs, inventories, and documentation of remediation activities.
  • Support the implementation of records retention and disposal requirements.
  • Ensure all records are handled securely and confidentially in accordance with banking and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with project stakeholders to provide updates on inventory progress, remediation status, and exceptions identified.
  • Escalate compliance risks, data discrepancies, and record management issues as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports, audit evidence, and compliance documentation.
  • Adhere to established project timelines and productivity targets.

Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Records Management, Data Governance, Compliance, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in records management, data remediation, data governance, document management, compliance, or related operational roles.
  • Experience working within the banking, financial services, insurance, or regulated industry environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and records retention requirements would be advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling large volumes of records and data.
  • Ability to review and organize physical and electronic documentation systematically.
  • Good understanding of document lifecycle management and records inventory processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other record-tracking tools.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting project deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
