Production Assistant cum General Worker (Welding & Fabrication)

Description of the Role:

1st Role: Production Assistant

Production Assistant is responsible for helping the Production Department in sheet metal work fabrication.

• To perform welding, cutting & bending of metal sheet.

• To carry out fitting assembly works

• To operate CNC machinery

• To perform painting works.
  

2nd Role: General Worker

General Worker is to assist the supervisor & follow the instruction given

• Able to perform basic installation work

• Understand basic safety requirements at site

• Able to carry equipment & materials weighing up to 20kg

• Report to team Supervisor for job assigned
  

Key Responsibilities

Production & Fabrication (Workshop)

• Perform welding, cutting, bending, and fitting assembly works for sheet metal, generator equipment, and accessories.

• Weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead) using manual or semi-automatic equipment.

• Read and interpret engineering/fabrication drawings and instructions accurately.

• Set up, prepare, and align components using calipers, rulers, and clamps before welding.

• Safely operate CNC machinery and perform necessary painting works.
  

General Site Operations & Support

• Assist supervisors, report for assigned jobs, and carry out basic installation work.

• Safely load, unload, and transport equipment and materials weighing up to 20kg.

• Maintain clean and safe work environments on-site; discard rubbish/debris and perform proper housekeeping.

• Act as a road marshal on-site when required.

• Clean and return all tools and balance materials back to the store
  

Requirements:

Education

• Professional Certificate / NiTEC, Diploma, Advanced / Higher / Graduate / Diploma
  

Knowledge / Experience / Personal Competencies / Others

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in the welding and fitting trade.

• Proficiency in a variety of welding procedures and equipment (TIG, ARC, MIG, etc.).

• Competency in using electrical or manual tools like saws, squares, and calipers.

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• A Professional Certification (e.g., an AWS welding certificate) is highly advantageous.

• Strict adherence to site safety standards and willingness to wear required protective gear (face shields, gloves, etc.). Must be a reliable team player.

• Able to attend regular overtime if required during weekdays, weekends & holidays depending on company needs.
