Tax, Asset Management

10 000 – 14 000 $

About this job

Our client is a premier, globally recognized alternative asset management firm managing substantial capital across private credit, real estate, private equity, and infrastructure. To support their continued expansion across Asia-Pacific, they are seeking an ambitious Tax AVP to join their Singapore-based regional tax team.

Position Summary

This role offers a balanced mix of cross-border tax advisory/structuring and regional tax compliance oversight for APAC-focused investment vehicles. Working closely with investment, legal, and finance teams, the successful candidate will manage tax risks and deliver commercial tax solutions across a diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Advisory & Deal Structuring

  • Provide tax structuring advice for fund launches, cross-border investments, holding company setups, operational workflows, and divestments across APAC.

  • Advise on complex international tax matters, including withholding tax optimization, double tax treaty availability, permanent establishment (PE) risks, and indirect transfer taxes.

  • Collaborate with deal teams, legal counsel, and finance leads to evaluate tax implications of transactions and new business initiatives.

  • Contribute to regional tax planning, risk management, and transfer pricing strategies.

  • Conduct internal briefings and training to elevate tax awareness among investment professionals and operational teams.

Tax Compliance & Risk Management

  • Oversee annual tax compliance and reporting processes for Singapore-resident entities and key regional APAC fund structures.

  • Serve as the primary bridge between internal teams (e.g., Fund Accounting) and external tax advisors.

  • Identify process efficiencies and implement enhancements across annual compliance cycles.

  • Maintain robust internal tax controls, risk frameworks, and audit-ready documentation.

  • Manage tax authority inquiries, audits, and dispute resolution processes in coordination with external tax counsel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related discipline. A recognized professional qualification (CA, CPA, CTA, or SCTP Accredited Tax Practitioner) is preferred.

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant tax experience, ideally within a Big 4 (Financial Services / M&A Tax practice), a multinational financial institution, or an in-house buy-side asset manager.

  • Strong understanding of Singapore tax principles (including fund incentive schemes) and cross-border APAC tax structuring across private markets.

  • Proven ability to manage multi-jurisdictional tax workflows, excellent stakeholder management skills, and strong commercial acumen.
