· All Post Fixture planning and operations of all aspects of the voyage ranging from understanding the contract / charter party and executing the voyage seamlessly Preparation of cargos and bunkers calculations – Voyage Planning
· Preparation and follow up on freight payments through to the finalization
· Appointing agents, surveyors and port captains (Knowledge of DA Desk will be an advantage)
· Communicate with owners, charterers, brokers, traders
· Coach Management Trainees, Juniors during their “On Job Training” at Freight Desk
· Keep voyage P&L in check and finalize voyages
· Constructively handle and settle claims together with commercial and legal teams
· Voyage planning, including optimizing cargo intake and bunker planning
· Raise Hire Statement, Freight statement, lay time calculation and ensure timely receipts of freight, charter hire, demurrage and other outstanding debts
· Raise payment to third parties such as agents and brokers
· Issue voyage instructions/other commercial instructions and generally keep a close liaison with the Master to ensure vessel performs as per charter party terms
· Monitor vessels daily performance at sea and in port to minimize delays, claims and/or disputes
· Manage loading and discharging operations to ensure quick turnaround time in port
· Appoint surveyors, agents at ports to assist Master
· Voyage planning, including optimising cargo intake and bunkerplanning
· Negotiate claims with owners/charterers or other such stakeholders to maximize voyage profitability
· Closely monitor noon reporting on vessels position on a regular basis
· Calculate Optimal Speed/Consumption prior any given voyage leg
· Support Chartering/Commercial colleagues
· Responsible for handling and settling complex dispute and claims
· Liaise with trading / master to finalize complex cargo stowage
· Travel to ports if required to handle problems / sort issues
· Distribute Fleet to Vessel Operators in absence of Team Lead / Ops Manager
· Make Root Cause Analysis report in times of incidents and put in place corrective measures to avoid / repeat such incidents
· Diploma / Degree / Certificate in Maritime / ICS Qualifying Exam
· Minimum 6 years of experience as a dry cargo operator dealing with DryBulk cargoes in Either Capes, Panamax, Supra and/or Handy sized vessels
· As a good knowledge / understanding of Dry Bulk Shipping
· An entrepreneurial minded, hardworking and structured team player
· Experience with the SoftMar/IMOS integrated voyage handling system an advantage but not mandatory.
· Experience with D/A Desk Module
· IT literate
