With deep technical expertise in complex marine engineering works, they are involved in landmark infrastructure developments, offering integrated capabilities across design, engineering, and construction.
Due to continued expansion and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint a Design Manager to strengthen their technical leadership team.
Role Overview
As the Design Manager, you will lead all design and engineering coordination for major coastal protection and reclamation projects, ensuring technical robustness, constructability, and alignment with project delivery objectives.
Design Management & Coordination
- Lead and manage the full design lifecycle from concept to detailed design and construction support
- Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (coastal, geotechnical, structural, marine, environmental)
- Manage and review external consultants and design partners
- Ensure design integration with construction methodologies
Technical Leadership
- Oversee design of:Revetments, seawalls, breakwatersLand reclamation works (hydraulic fill, dredging, soil improvement)Marine structures (caissons, sheet piles, quay walls)
- Ensure compliance with international standards and client specifications
- Drive value engineering and optimize design solutions
Stakeholder Management
- Interface with clients, consultants, and authorities on approvals and technical matters
- Lead design reviews, workshops, and presentations
Digital & Innovation
- Champion BIM and digital engineering adoption
- Utilize modelling tools (e.g., coastal/hydraulic simulations) to enhance design accuracy
Requirements
- Degree in Civil / Coastal / Marine Engineering
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in coastal protection, reclamation, or marine infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in design management within contractor or consultancy environment
- Strong knowledge in coastal engineering, geotechnical design, and marine works
- Familiar with tools such as PLAXIS, MIKE21, AutoCAD, BIM platforms
