In-house Interior Designer / Drafter

Job Summary

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer / Drafter to transform client requirements into practical, aesthetically pleasing, and technically accurate interior designs. The ideal candidate should possess strong design thinking, space planning abilities, and technical drafting skills while working closely with clients, suppliers, and the project team.

Key Responsibilities

Design

• Develop space planning and furniture layouts.
• Produce mood boards, material boards, and design concepts.
• Recommend suitable materials, colours, lighting, finishes, and furnishings.
• Present design proposals and revise according to client feedback.

Drafting

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
• Produce:Floor plansFurniture layout plansDemolition plansElectrical layoutsLighting layoutsPlumbing layoutsCeiling plansElevationsSection drawingsCarpentry detailed drawings
• Ensure all drawings comply with project requirements and site conditions.

3D Visualisation

• Produce realistic 3D perspectives and renderings using SketchUp, Enscape, D5 Render, 3ds Max, or similar software.
• Update renderings based on design revisions.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and suppliers.
• Resolve technical issues during construction.
• Ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project.

Documentation

• Prepare drawing revisions.
• Maintain project documentation.
• Assist in preparing quotations and presentation materials.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Spatial Design, or related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome (Junior Designer).
• 2–5 years' experience preferred (Senior Designer).

Software Skills

• AutoCAD (Required)
• SketchUp (Required)
• Enscape / D5 Render / Lumion / V-Ray
• Adobe Photoshop
• Microsoft Office

• Knowledge of residential and commercial renovation

Salary

• Junior Interior Designer: S$2,500 – S$3,500
• Interior Designer: S$3,500 – S$5,000
• Senior Interior Designer: S$5,000 – S$7,000+
• Commission and performance incentives may be provided based on project sales and performance.
