About this job
Accountable for all Contract Logistics warehousing and transport businesses in the designated Area - Delivering a high level of safety leadership, instilling a safety culture as well as high levels of customer service demonstrating continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity and overall business performance delivering the P&L according to the budgets set
Developing a High Performance Team focused on delivering Business Commercial and Operational imperatives
Deliver effective KPI reporting with agreed and achievable measures including consistent follow-up. Develop a culture that proactively uses KPI data to identify improvement opportunities and which uses the data to ensure improvements are sustainably implemented
Develop teams and individuals that are fully aware of tools for impeccable execution and who are aggressively implementing those tools
Develop and sustain engagement processes to align resources and support effective cascading of information and communications
Actively participate in the solution design and implementation of new business, account management, and develop operational customer relationships
Manage contractual requirements to ensure no contract scope creep while exceeding customer expectations
Deliver agreed business plan including budgeted profit levels for each contract operating within the area. Actively oversee the area management budget including salaries, headcount, casual labour, overtime, equipment etc.
Drive efficiency in the areas of property utilisation, labour sharing and other infrastructure sharing through benchmarking (internal & external), alternative operating models/layouts and technology solutions
Continuously look for ways to drive cost reduction through rates negotiation and other associated costs
Maintain awareness of regulatory and similar requirements to ensure that businesses within the Area are fully compliant at all times
Requirements:
Proven track record of related work or industry experience
Leading large teams and managing a complex supply chain business
Achieving delivery of targets
Leadership skills and ability to influence and develop individuals and teams; ability to build operational bench strength
Strong strategic planning capabilities
