Role Overview
The role is responsible for supporting RD&I laboratory operations through routine lab activities such as paint making, panel preparation, and airless spray application, ensuring tasks are completed within agreed timelines, as well as conducting basic laboratory testing and analysis, assisting chemists in development projects, and maintaining stock levels and proper waste disposal. It also involves communicating progress with the line manager, ensuring compliance with ISO, environmental, and safety regulations (including safe chemical handling), and maintaining workplace safety and security.
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out tasks to support the RD&I laboratory personnel through routine lab activities such as paint making, panel preparation (degreasing, priming, edging etc.) and airless spray application.
a. Self-manage to meet deadlines as agreed with line manager
b. Ability to use FLT/Pallet Stacker
c. Participate in trial applications/inspections outside laboratory conditions, under supervision - Laboratory analytical tasks which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analysing results for paints.
- Assist Chemist in development projects including disposal of non-chemical waste disposal (glass, tins, steel, concrete etc.), maintaining panel stocks, raw material stocks, consumable stocks etc, as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with line manager in terms of progress/delays
- Manage compliance with ISO, environmental, Lab management safety & health regulations and rules at all times including with handing of chemicals and necessary precautions/preventive measures in place to reduce risk.
- Ensure the workplace safety and security.
- Undertake other job functions as and when assigned from time to time.
