About the Role
Our Client operates one of Singapore's busiest container terminals. As a Prime Mover Operator (Container Trucking Master), you will operate prime mover vehicles to transport containers between the wharf and yard within the PSA terminal. Full training is provided; this role is open to candidates with a Class 3A licence and a willingness to learn.
What You Will Be Doing
- Operate prime mover vehicles to transport containers from wharf to yard and vice versa within the PSA container terminal
- Conduct pre-operation and post-operation vehicle checks before and after each shift
- Comply with all PSA traffic and safety rules, procedures, and terminal operating systems
- Mount and dismount containers safely using correct procedures
- Communicate with operational groups and respond to instructions from the control centre
- Operate the prime mover's onboard PC system to track and record container movements
- Refuel the prime mover and prepare the vehicle for shift handover
- Ensure goods are loaded and secured onto the vehicle before moving off
- Verify correct container numbers before loading
- Ensure on-time point-to-point delivery of containers
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and hygiene
- Report any damages or incidents to superiors immediately
- Attend toolbox briefings prior to commencement of each shift
- Comply with all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards and company SOPs
Requirements
- Minimum Class 3A driving licence (Class 3 or 4 also accepted)
- Minimum PSLE with a pass in English or equivalent.
- Able to commit to a minimum of 22 workdays per month on rotating 12-hour shifts (7:30 AM/PM start) subject to the applicable working-hours and rest-day requirements.
- Able to perform the physical requirements of the role, including mounting and dismounting vehicles safely, conducting vehicle checks, and working outdoors for extended periods.
Training & Bond
- 2-week training course (1–2 days theory, followed by practical from Day 3)
- ATI assessment: 1 week
- On-the-Job Training (OJT): 2 months (minimum 440 hours)
- 6-month training bond: SGD 2,500 (Class 3 course) / SGD 2,000 (Class 4 course)
