Job Summary
The Social Work Associate supports the social work team by conducting needs assessments, coordinating assistance, navigating community resources, and maintaining case documentation to aid clients and families.
Responsibilities
- Assist Social Workers in conducting intake sessions, performing basic needs assessments, and completing initial administrative screenings to identify client needs.
- Coordinate practical assistance by processing applications for financial aid, food rations, and community service referrals to support client welfare.
- Conduct client contact sessions, perform home visits, and carry out follow-up checks under Social Worker supervision to monitor client stability and progress.
- Organize and maintain accurate case files, client databases, and administrative records to ensure compliance with audit standards and facilitate service delivery.
- Escort vulnerable clients, including elderly and persons with mobility challenges, to medical, agency, or official appointments to ensure their access to necessary services.
- Facilitate administrative logistics for group work activities, community workshops, and client engagement events to support program implementation.
- Provide resource navigation support by assisting clients in connecting with government agencies and local support networks for additional assistance.
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma in Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, or a related field from a recognized polytechnic or institution.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Basic knowledge of case management principles and community support systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively using strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills to engage clients and stakeholders.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and professionalism when interacting with vulnerable individuals.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications and administrative tools to support daily operational tasks.
