about the job:
In this role, you will be the backbone of the organization's server environment, ensuring maximum uptime, security, and operational efficiency. You will handle everything from day-to-day system maintenance to implementing critical infrastructure upgrades.

key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise Windows Server environments across both physical hardware and virtualized platforms.
  • Maintain and optimize core directory services, identity management, domain configurations, and network protocols (Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP).
  • Execute routine system hardening, manage endpoint protection tools, and oversee centralized patch deployment schedules to keep systems secure.
  • Conduct daily health checks, analyze system logs to proactively mitigate anomalies, and resolve server-related incidents efficiently.
  • Administer enterprise backup solutions and actively participate in disaster recovery simulations to ensure business continuity.
  • Utilize scripting tools to streamline repetitive administrative tasks, reporting, and user provisioning.
  • Align all infrastructure modifications and documentation with structured ITIL frameworks.

skills and experience required:

  • Proven hands-on experience in managing Windows Server environments (including recent versions like 2016/2019/2022) and Hyper-V virtualization.
  • Strong technical proficiency with Active Directory, GPOs, and core network services.
  • Familiarity with enterprise update tools (such as WSUS or configuration management suites) and endpoint security solutions (e.g., Symantec/SEPM).
  • Practical experience with enterprise-grade backup software (such as Veritas) and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Ability to write and utilize PowerShell scripts for task automation.
  • Valid professional certification: MCSA or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
  • Sound understanding of ITIL methodologies and structured change management.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments, particularly RHEL administration and patching. (good to have)
  • Experience with log management and security analytics tools (e.g., Splunk, Kiwi Syslog) to detect anomalous behaviors and tune systems. (good to have)
