Group Accountant
About this job
Key Responsibilities
1. Group Financial Reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidated financial statements.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards and group policies.
Coordinate with subsidiaries to ensure proper accounting treatment and consistency.
2. Consolidation & Intercompany Management
Perform group consolidation, including elimination of intercompany transactions and balances.
Reconcile intercompany accounts across group entities.
Monitor and resolve discrepancies between group companies.
3. Construction Project Accounting
Review project cost recognition, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress (WIP).
Monitor project profitability and margins.
Work closely with project and operations teams to ensure accurate project financial reporting.
4. Financial Analysis & Management Reporting
Prepare management reports and financial analysis for management.
Provide variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
Support decision-making through financial insights.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Monitor actual performance against budgets.
6. Compliance & Audit
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and accounting standards.
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
Support annual audit and tax filing processes.
7. Internal Control & Process Improvement
Maintain strong internal control systems across the group.
Review and improve accounting processes and financial workflows.
8. Team Coordination
Guide and support finance team members across subsidiaries.
Ensure accounting policies and procedures are consistently applied.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 5–8 years accounting experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or project-based industries.
Experience in group consolidation and project accounting.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
