Associate / Senior Associate — Litigation (Criminal, Family & Civil)
About this job
We're looking for qualified lawyers at both Associate and Senior Associate level to join our litigation team, handling criminal, family, and civil matters with strong court exposure and direct client contact.
What You'll Do
Litigation & Case Management
- Handle criminal, family, and civil litigation matters, with Senior Associates expected to independently manage a caseload and guide junior team members
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and legal correspondence
- Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries
- Attend and, for Senior Associates, lead court hearings, mentions, and trials
Client Advisory
- Liaise with clients and provide legal advice — Associates under supervision, Senior Associates with greater autonomy
- Take instructions and contribute to (or, for Senior Associates, lead) case strategy development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high standard of service
Documentation & Compliance
- Review and prepare legal documents, contracts, and agreements
- Ensure compliance with procedural rules and court timelines
- Manage case files and maintain proper documentation; Senior Associates oversee file management standards across the team
Additional for Senior Associates
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior associates and trainees
- Support business development and client origination efforts
- Assist in refining internal processes and best practices
What We're Looking For
Associate
- Qualified to practise law in Singapore
- Called into the Singapore or Malaysia Bar (or eligible for call)
- Strong interest in Criminal Law, Family Law, and Civil Litigation
- Good drafting, research, and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
Senior Associate
- Qualified to practise law in Singapore, with several years of relevant post-qualification experience in litigation
- Called to the Singapore Bar
- Demonstrated track record in Criminal Law, Family Law, and/or Civil Litigation
- Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to handle matters independently
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and client management skills
- Proven ability to manage a caseload and work collaboratively across teams
