Risk Analyst (6 Month Contract)

Our client is a well-established global asset management firm with a strong presence in APAC. The firm is looking for a Risk Analyst to join them for a 6-month contract.
You will play a cross-functional role in the day-to-day management of portfolio risks, challenging investment teams constructively while ensuring strict adherence to internal guidelines and global regulatory frameworks
Key Responsibilities
1. Risk Monitoring & Quantitative Analysis Track Risk Indicators: Measure and evaluate primary ex-ante risk metrics, including Value at Risk (VaR), tracking error, sensitivities, Greeks, and stress testing indicators on a daily basis.
2. Stress Testing & Scenario Analysis: Research, construct, and interpret complex macroeconomic and historical stress scenarios to evaluate portfolio resilience.
3. Liquidity Risk Management: Monitor portfolio liquidity profiles and ensure regulatory compliance with liquidity management tools. Performance Attribution: Analyze performance indicators (attribution and contribution) relative to underlying risk allocations.
4. Risk Platforms & Process Automation System Management: Leverage industry-standard investment risk tools—such as Aladdin, Barra Portfolio Manager, and Bloomberg—to perform data controls and product risk evaluations
5. Data Quality Assurance: Conduct continuous quality checks on financial data records, derivative securities pricing, and ex-ante metrics within core systems.
6. Stakeholder Management & Regulatory Compliance Front-Office Collaboration: Act as a critical risk partner to Portfolio Managers, defending risk perspectives constructively and providing guidance on risk mitigation strategies. Investment Compliance: Enforce ongoing compliance boundaries regarding investment constraints, client mandates, and group-level internal requirements.
7. Prepare clear risk analysis dashboards and summary documentation for Senior Management, Risk Committees, and regional Regulators.
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of experience in investment risk/portfolio risk or market risk and have worked for financial institutions such as banks, asset managers or hedge funds.
• Strong understanding of financial modelling, analytical skills, credit principles and banking practices, regulatory requirements, rating mechanisms, and risk management.
• Excellent analytical skills, including evaluating financial statements and credit reports.
• Able to provide thoughtful and balanced risk perspectives to business lines.
• Good communication and organization skills.
• Proficiency in MS office application.
