Working Hours:
- Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break)
- Wednesdays and Thursdays: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break)
- Note: Staff may be permitted to leave earlier on days when the school closes early. Off on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted Public Holidays.
Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a proactive and meticulous individual to join our team as a Resource Support Officer, primary focusing on the smooth operation, preparation, and maintenance of our Science department teaching resources and laboratories.
Key duties include:
- Teaching & Learning Support: Preparing necessary resources, kits, and materials for Science laboratory activities, enrichment programmes, and school competitions.
- Laboratory Housekeeping: Setting up equipment before practical classes and conducting comprehensive clean-ups/rearrangements after lessons conclude.
- Inventory & Asset Management: Labelling, tracking, and maintaining strict records of all Science teaching materials, specimens, and laboratory apparatus.
- Stock-Take Audits: Performing formal inventory stock-takes at least twice a year. Updating breakage logs and stock books to trigger timely replacement orders.
- Safety & Compliance Device Checks: Testing core laboratory safety equipment regularly (including emergency eye-washers, safety showers, and fire extinguishers) to guarantee working readiness.
- Student Safety & Lab Logs: Ensuring student safety protocols are adhered to within the Science rooms. Maintaining the laboratory incident logbook and reporting safety lapses to the HOD.
- Hazardous Waste Disposal: Facilitating the safe and proper disposal of lab waste materials, including chemicals and sharp objects, in accordance with guidelines.
- General Office Support: Replenishing standard first-aid box supplies across designated special rooms, managing file systems, and carrying out ad-hoc duties requested by HODs or Level Representatives.
Requirements
- Minimum GCE 'N' Level certification or equivalent educational qualifications.
- Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office software tools (Word, Excel) with an open mindset to learning new institutional digital systems.
- Strong organizational, filing, and physical housekeeping skills.
- Preferred Qualification: Prior experience in Science laboratory management, resource support execution, or previous employment within an MOE school environment.
