Structural Engineer

Purpose of the position

The purpose of this position is to plan and conduct engineering projects of a complex nature to meet client requirements.

Accountabilities

· Applies a robust understanding of engineering principles to devise and deliver practical, economical and innovative solutions to problems

· Produces designs, documentation, specifications, reports and other documentation to meet client requirements for projects of reasonable complexity under the guidance of senior staff

· Prepares client reports, presentations and updates

· Contributes to project planning and ensures their work is delivered within programme and budget

· Liaises with drafters to enable preparation of design documentation

· Checks Graduate Engineers’ work as directed

· Represents the company professionally with client representatives and other consultants

· Interprets and communicates information effectively to different stakeholders

· Takes appropriate responsibility for the planning and management of resources for small or medium projects, or aspects of larger projects, including technical outcomes and adherence to project schedule/timelines

· Ensures compliance with applicable Codes, local authorities requirements and policies including WHS practices and Quality Assurance

· Coordinates with clients and other consultants on design, construction, and submission aspects of projects

· Attends technical / site meetings as required
