Job Summary
Support project managers and engineers in managing workplace safety risks within the building and construction industry by coordinating with regulatory bodies, enforcing compliance, conducting inspections, and promoting safety awareness and training.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess foreseeable workplace risks in collaboration with project managers and engineers to enhance site safety.
- Coordinate and liaise with officers from LTA, JTC, PUB, and NPARKS onsite to ensure smooth project operations and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct site safety inspections to enforce compliance with prevailing MOM Safety Acts and Regulations.
- Lead Monthly Safety Committee meetings and prepare comprehensive safety reports highlighting issues and improvements.
- Perform regular inspections of construction site facilities and equipment to ensure proper functioning and absence of environmental health hazards.
- Supervise workers to implement safety measures and procedures aligned with MOM Regulations.
- Respond promptly to safety irregularities and communicate findings to the construction site occupier.
- Investigate accidents thoroughly and recommend effective health and safety measures to prevent recurrence.
- Implement and maintain the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management program to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
- Promote safety awareness among staff, workers, subcontractors, and suppliers through engagement and communication.
- Plan and conduct safety training and awareness programs to enhance workforce knowledge and compliance.
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving with strong interpersonal and analytical skills to support safety objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by project managers and engineers to support project safety goals.
Required competencies and certifications
- Certified Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) from MOM.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the Building and Construction Industry.
- Completion of Risk Management Training.
