Deputy Chief Procurement Officer (contract role | up to $13K |Health Sector)

We are seeking an experienced procurement leader to support procurement operations across the Environment and Public Health division.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end procurement operations across multiple categories.

• Provide leadership and guidance on complex and high-value procurement matters.

• Drive sourcing, category management and procurement aggregation initiatives.

• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and value creation.

• Advise internal stakeholders on procurement strategies, risks and governance requirements.

• Support demand forecasting and long-term procurement planning.

• Ensure proper documentation, audit trails and compliance controls.

• Oversee contract management and supplier relationship management.

• Drive continuous improvement in procurement efficiency and service delivery.

• Lead and support procurement teams in achieving operational objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in government procurement.

• Strong experience managing end-to-end procurement operations.

• Proven experience handling complex and high-value procurement.

• Experience leading teams and driving operational performance.

• Strong knowledge of the Instruction Manual (IM) – Procurement.

• Strong working knowledge of the GeBIZ system.

• Good understanding of procurement governance, compliance and risk management.

• Strong stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills.

• Able to provide strategic advice while managing operational details.
