Head of IT (ERP)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Group Head of Information Technology to lead the Group's technology strategy and enterprise-wide ERP transformation programme across multiple African operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, integration, and continuous improvement of enterprise business systems, while providing strategic leadership in IT governance, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and digital transformation initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with senior management, business stakeholders, and external technology partners to deliver scalable technology solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

ERP & Digital Transformation

• Lead the end-to-end implementation and optimisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Develop and execute the Group's ERP roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Drive standardisation of business processes across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Operations.
• Ensure successful ERP integration with business applications and reporting systems.
• Lead change management initiatives to support user adoption and business readiness.

IT Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement the Group's IT strategy and technology roadmap.
• Provide leadership and direction to regional IT teams across multiple countries.
• Partner with senior management to identify technology solutions that improve business performance.

Programme & Project Management

• Lead large-scale ERP and digital transformation programmes.
• Establish project governance, budgets, implementation schedules, risk management, and performance metrics.
• Manage internal stakeholders, external vendors, consultants, and system integrators throughout the project lifecycle.

IT Operations & Governance

• Develop and maintain IT governance policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, information security requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Manage user access controls, system administration, and IT asset management.

Business Systems & Supply Chain

• Support implementation and optimisation of Transport Management Systems (TMS) and supply chain applications.
• Improve operational visibility through integrated business systems and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics, inventory management, and distribution processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in IT leadership, with significant experience leading enterprise ERP implementations.
• Proven track record in delivering full ERP lifecycle projects, from planning through implementation and post-go-live support.
• Experience managing regional or multinational IT operations.
• Experience working in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, agriculture, or distribution environments is preferred.
• Exposure to operations across Africa or other emerging markets will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of ERP architecture, financial systems integration, and enterprise applications.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and IT governance frameworks.
