Java Spark Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver fully tested Java source code that meets defined quality standards.
• Design technical solutions using established design patterns and identify potential anti-patterns.
• Analyze technical constraints and assess their functional impact.
• Collaborate with architects and business analysts to clarify requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
• Perform performance tuning and contribute to application optimization.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation.
• Provide development estimates for technical solutions.
• Develop test strategies in coordination with project managers and business analysts.
• Perform design and code reviews for team members.
• Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and team practices.
• Work effectively within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Monitor and report software code quality indicators to relevant stakeholders.
• Support other software development activities as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in software development and testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Unix shell scripting and MS SQL Server.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Knowledge of both frontend and backend development.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, anti-patterns and performance tuning.
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases, particularly MS SQL Server.
• Experience with SQL profiling and query analysis.
• Knowledge of scheduling tools such as Airflow or Control-M.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD or similar tools.
• Good working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge or experience in Risk applications or Risk technology.
• Knowledge of project management and software development lifecycle practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP for data processing.
• Experience working in enterprise or financial services environments.
