Electrical Draftsperson (East)

We are seeking an Electrical Draftsperson to prepare and maintain technical drawings for electrical and electronic equipment installations.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and project teams to produce accurate schematics, layouts and installation drawings. Candidates from any industry may be considered, provided they have relevant electrical drafting experience and strong AutoCAD skills. Previous marine experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable layouts and equipment arrangement drawings.
• Develop and revise drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
• Convert engineering concepts, sketches and specifications into detailed technical drawings.
• Prepare cable schedules, termination details, equipment lists and related documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with project requirements, technical standards and drafting conventions.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and consistency before submission.
• Update existing drawings based on engineering changes and site feedback.
• Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records and document-control procedures.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, technicians and installation teams.
• Support the preparation of as-built drawings upon project completion.
• Assist with material take-offs and other project documentation when required.
• Attend site or vessel visits to verify measurements and installation requirements where necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, NITEC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Drafting or a related discipline.
• At least one to three years of electrical drafting experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical would be advantageous.
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
• Candidates from construction, building services, manufacturing, industrial automation, oil and gas, marine or other technical industries are welcome.
• Experience drafting layouts for navigation, communication or electronic equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and document-control practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
