Finance Manager (6-month Contract)

Company Overview

Soon Seng Food Industry Pte Ltd manufactures and supplies quality cooked noodles, dry noodles and kway teow, serving distributors and retailers across Singapore.

Job Summary

Manage comprehensive accounting functions including accounts receivable/payable, budgeting, auditing liaison, and statutory filings to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable to maintain accurate financial records and cash flow
• Oversee petty cash transactions ensuring proper documentation and control
• Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts to support financial planning and decision-making
• Generate variance reports on profit & loss and cash flow to identify financial trends and discrepancies
• Liaise with external auditors, statutory bodies and company secretary to facilitate audits and compliance requirements
• Manage the general ledger and perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements
• Maintain proper documentation and bookkeeping for day-to-day accounting operations
• Prepare and file external statutory returns including Corporate Tax and GST compliance to meet regulatory obligations
• Review current Standard Operating Procedures to improve processes
• Execute other projects and ad-hoc duties as assigned to support business needs

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accountancy, or equivalent
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform routine and non-routine accounting duties independently following sound accounting principles
• Knowledge in AutoCount accounting system will be advantageous

Other Requirements:

• Effectively bilingual in English and Chinese/Mandarin due to need to liaise with chinese-speaking suppliers/customers
• Willing and able to work at Jurong area
