Our client is a Japanese Fintech company. They are currently looking for an Accounting Executive (Japanese Speaking) to handle a broad range of accounting and finance operations. This role covers day-to-day bookkeeping, month-end closing, payment and cash flow management, as well as other finance-related activities. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and contribute to improving and streamlining accounting processes
【Responsibilities】
- Handle daily accounting operations, including journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash transactions.
- Perform bookkeeping and maintain accounting records using Xero.
- Handle month-end closing activities, including preparation of trial balances, account reconciliations, account reviews, and monthly financial reports.
- Review bookkeeping entries and verify the accuracy and reasonableness of accounting figures.
- Process expense claims and payments using online banking platforms such as DBS and Wise.
- Manage cash flow and support cash management activities.
- Plan and execute foreign currency exchange transactions when required.
- Develop, review, and improve accounting and finance workflows to enhance efficiency and standardisation.
- Handle other general accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

【Requirements & Preferences】
- Bachelor's Degree or above.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting and/or finance experience.
- Good understanding of the full accounting cycle through month-end closing, rather than experience limited to data entry or journal posting.
- Basic accounting knowledge equivalent to approximately Japan Bookkeeping Level 3 (Nissho Boki 3) or similar.
- JLPT N3 or equivalent Japanese proficiency to communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking counterparts.
- Willing and comfortable handling hands-on accounting work, including bookkeeping and data entry.
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese to communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities.
(Advantageous)
- Experience using accounting software in Singapore, such as Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB.
- Strong IT literacy and ability to work effectively with accounting and finance systems.
- Experience reviewing bookkeeping entries and accounting / financial reports.
- Experience improving or streamlining accounting and finance processes.
- Experience supporting external audits.
