Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on and technically competent Service Engineer to provide installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and technical support for a wide range of industrial machinery and automated equipment.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers, production teams, and internal engineering teams to ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. Candidates with experience in robotic arms, CNC machines, FPI cleaning lines, high-vacuum systems, heat treatment furnaces, PLC control systems, or other industrial equipment are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of industrial equipment at customer sites.

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain:

    • Industrial robot arms / robotic automation systems

    • CNC machines and machining equipment

    • FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) cleaning lines

    • High-vacuum systems and equipment

    • Heat treatment furnaces

    • PLC-based control systems

    • Sensors, motors, drives, actuators and other automation components

    • Other industrial machinery and production equipment

  • Conduct equipment testing, calibration, alignment, and performance verification after installation or repair.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, PLC I/O drawings, and equipment manuals.

  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, servo, inverter/VFD, motor, sensor, actuator, and other automation-related issues.

  • Support equipment modification, upgrading, and improvement projects where required.

  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers during equipment operation and troubleshooting.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and recommend corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Prepare service reports, maintenance records, troubleshooting reports, and technical documentation.

  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

  • Provide basic training and operational guidance to customers' technicians and operators when required.

  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide on-site technical support when necessary.

  • Travel to customer sites locally and, where required, overseas for installation, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting.

  • Ensure all service activities comply with company safety procedures, customer site requirements, and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Relevant experience in service engineering, field service, equipment engineering, maintenance engineering, automation, or industrial machinery.

  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:

    • Robot arms / industrial robots

    • CNC machines

    • FPI cleaning lines

    • High-vacuum systems

    • Heat treatment furnaces

    • PLC control systems

    • Servo motors and drives

    • HMI systems

    • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

    • Industrial automation equipment

    • Semiconductor, aerospace, precision engineering, automotive, or manufacturing equipment

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, controls, and automation systems.

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and control diagrams.

  • Familiarity with PLC programming or troubleshooting is an advantage.

  • Able to use electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, and other relevant equipment.

  • Good communication and customer-facing skills.

  • Able to work independently and manage service activities at customer sites.

  • Willing to travel locally and/or overseas when required.
