Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and reliable Steersman to operate our small wooden passenger boat in Singapore waters.

The Steersman will be responsible for the safe operation and navigation of the boat, as well as the safety of passengers throughout the journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and steer the passenger boat safely.
• Ensure the safety of passengers during each trip.
• Conduct basic checks of the boat and equipment before departure.
• Safely handle departure, arrival, berthing and mooring.
• Maintain a proper lookout and comply with applicable navigation and safety requirements.
• Monitor weather and sea conditions and exercise good judgement before and during operations.
• Ensure the boat is kept clean and in good operational condition.
• Report any defects, incidents or safety concerns to the Company.
• Comply with Company procedures and relevant Singapore maritime requirements.
• Perform other duties related to the safe operation of the boat as required.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Singapore Steersman licence / relevant MPA certification.
• Previous experience operating small boats or passenger boats will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Singapore waters and basic boat-handling skills.
• Able to work independently as the boat is operated on a single-person manning basis.
• Responsible, safety-conscious and reliable.
• Physically fit and able to perform duties required for boat operations.
