Scrub Nurse

Job Summary

· Provide perioperative nursing care

· Assist surgeon during operation

· Coordinate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary caregivers in providing safe efficient patient care

Roles and Responsibilities

Patient Care Management

· Ensure operating rooms are prepared for procedures, respect patient rights and confidentiality, conduct preoperative assessments, and ensure surgical equipment readiness.

· Assist in patient positioning, support surgeons during procedures, and participate in anesthesia and recovery tasks.

· Maintain sterility standards, intervene in emergencies, and accurately document patient records.

Patient Education

· Maintain effective communication and interpersonal relations with the patients and caregivers

Professional Development

· Participate in ongoing nursing education, mentor junior staff, provide feedback on clinical performances, conduct in-service education, and act as a resource for perioperative nurses.

Risk and Quality Management

· Deliver evidence-based care, report unsafe practices, ensure infection control compliance, implement fall prevention measures, and identify opportunities for clinical improvement.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board

· BCLS & AED certified

· Advanced diploma or degree in nursing or equivalent

· At least 2 years' experience as a Staff Nurse in a clinical setting
