Roles & Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and monitor construction, ship repair, fabrication, piping and engineering projects from commencement to completion.
2. Coordinate daily work activities between project teams, supervisors, subcontractors, clients and shipyard personnel.
3. Prepare and monitor project schedules, manpower requirements, work progress and material requirements.
4. Coordinate manpower deployment and ensure workers are assigned according to project requirements.
5. Monitor site progress and ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project schedules.
6. Coordinate structural, piping, welding, fabrication and installation activities.
7. Liaise with shipyard/client representatives regarding work permits, access, inspections, work coordination and project requirements.
8. Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and maintain project documentation, records and correspondence.
9. Monitor materials, tools and equipment required for project execution and coordinate timely delivery to site.
10. Coordinate inspections, testing and rectification of completed works.
11. Identify project delays, site issues and resource requirements and coordinate corrective actions with the project team.
12. Ensure work is carried out in accordance with applicable safety, quality and environmental requirements.
13. Attend project meetings and provide updates on progress, manpower, schedule and outstanding issues.
14. Assist the Project Manager/Operations Manager with project planning, costing, documentation and completion handover.
Qualifications & Experience
* Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related discipline.
* Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, shipyard, marine, piping, structural or engineering projects.
* Experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, piping, structural fabrication, welding or mechanical works will be advantageous.
* Good knowledge of project coordination, site activities and manpower planning.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and project specifications.
* Good communication and coordination skills.
* Ability to prepare project reports, schedules and documentation.
* Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and shipyard safety procedures.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
* Able to coordinate effectively with clients, subcontractors, supervisors and workers.
