QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER

Job Description

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
• Establish quality control procedures, inspection plans, checklists, and acceptance criteria.
• Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and relevant standards.
• Conduct inspections of materials, workmanship, equipment, and completed works.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on quality matters.
• Review material submissions, test reports, inspection records, and quality-related documentation.
• Identify non-conformities, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct internal quality audits and support external, client, and certification audits.
• Investigate quality issues, determine root causes, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure measuring and testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
• Prepare quality reports and maintain accurate records for audit and project handover.
• Provide quality-related training and guidance to employees and subcontractors.
• Promote continuous improvement and a strong quality culture across the organisation.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant quality control or quality assurance experience.
• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or M&E projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
• Familiar with relevant Singapore regulations, industry codes, technical standards, and authority requirements.
• Experience in preparing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, checklists, audit reports, and NCRs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality-management documentation.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification is an advantage.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities.
