About this job

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the end-to-end crewing process,including sourcing, screening, selection, deployment, rotation, and repatriation of seafarers.
  2. Coordinate crew changes, travel arrangements, visas, work permits, medical examinations, and flag-state documentation to ensure smooth and timely deployment.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date crew records, certificates, contracts, training records, and personnel documentation in the crewing management system.
  4. Ensure all seafarers possess valid STCW certificates, medical fitness, licenses, endorsements, and other statutory documentation before joining vessels.
  5. Prepare and monitor crew rotation and relief plans, ensuring vessels are adequately manned in accordance with operational requirements.
  6. Liaise closely with Masters, vessel managers, technical and marine superintendents, manning agencies, port agents, and travel providers on crewing matters.
  7. Ensure compliance with MLC 2006, STCW, flag-state requirements, company policies, and applicable maritime regulations relating to crew employment and welfare.
  8. Handle seafarer employment agreements,payroll-related information, allotments, leave records, claims, and other crew administration as required.
  9. Monitor crew performance, training requirements, appraisals, disciplinary matters, and contract completion while supporting crew retention and development initiatives.
  10. Support the Crewing Manager and management team with crew cost monitoring, reports, audits, inspections, and continuous improvement of crewing processes.

Requirements

  1. Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, Business Administration, Shipping, or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum 2–3 years of relevant crewing or marine personnel experience within a shipowner, ship management company or maritime crewing agency.
  3. Good working knowledge of MLC 2006, STCW, flag-state requirements, seafarer documentation, and international crewing practices.
  4. Strong coordination, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple crew changes and urgent operational requirements.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office and crewing management systems, with a detail-oriented mindset and willingness to handle time-sensitive crewing matters outside normal office hours when required.
