Job Role Description:

The Regional Assistant Manager is responsible for providing legal support to the organization and affiliates in the ASEAN region by advising on and supporting the management of a range of legal matters, construction contracts and other related aspects of the business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support legal functions and provide guidance on legal aspects for regional affiliates in response to affiliates’ needs and objectives.
  • Draft and/or review contracts, legal documents and correspondences.
  • Identify and analyse potential legal and contractual risks relating to projects and business transactions and formulate risk mitigating solutions.
  • Support the negotiation of contracts and transactions where necessary.
  • Coordinate with and communicate advice to internal stakeholders on legal issues.
  • Assist in monitoring and identifying potential legal issues as they arise.
  • Recommend legal strategy and course of action in disputes and support legal proceedings where applicable.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of internal contract review and risk management processes.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of legal projects (e.g., internal legal training for affiliates’ staff, standardization and update of templates and internal policies)
  • Conduct legal research and stay abreast of developments in international laws, regulations, and industry-related practices especially in ASEAN jurisdictions and make timely internal updates.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments and external parties where necessary.
  • Perform other related operational duties and administrative support as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A recognized degree in Law.
  • At least 5 years of experience international corporate legal affairs, preferably in construction industry.
  • Good understanding and practical knowledge in construction law and contracts.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and information security literacy.
  • High attention to details, strong initiatives and sense of responsibility.
  • Familiarity with business operations and jurisdictions in Southeast Asia region will be an advantage.
