Data scientist (AI Native, flat team structure, business growing)

About the Role

Our client is a fast-growing technology platform and expanding the team here. They are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Scientist to serve as a strategic thought partner to business leaders, translating complex data into actionable insights that shape product direction and commercial strategy. This is a high-impact, highly visible role for someone who thrives at the nexus of data science and business strategy, and who wants their analytical work to directly influence the trajectory of a scaled consumer internet business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data analysis initiatives that support business decision-making across community, commercialisation, and e-commerce functions
• Develop deep understanding of core business verticals and deliver in-depth analytical work that drives product iteration and strategic pivots
• Design and build robust business data systems and reporting frameworks that elevate the value of data across the organisation
• Establish rigorous measurement methodologies, including experimentation design, quantification models, and attribution frameworks to evaluate business performance
• Partner closely with product, operations, and commercial teams to ensure data outputs are actionable and well-adopted
• Own the development of end-to-end analytical workflows, leveraging modern AI tools and automation to improve analytical efficiency and scalability
  

Requirements

• Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
• 4+ years of experience in data science, business analytics, or strategic analysis within an internet or technology environment
• Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional business stakeholders and translate ambiguous questions into structured analytical frameworks
• Excellent logical reasoning and deep-dive problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of delivering insights that influenced strategic decisions
• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and the ability to independently build and optimise end-to-end analytical pipelines
