Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the company’s accounting operations and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. You will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, including month-end closing and full-set accounting with meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate should be able to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, work effectively under pressure, demonstrate a positive attitude and have a strong interest in process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions across multiple entities within the group, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including maintaining the general ledger, posting journals, bank reconciliations and preparing schedules for accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany transactions and fixed assets.
- Prepare and submit GST reporting and filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory deadlines.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
- Work closely with the reconciliation team to keep the books clean and audit-ready.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
- Process and review staff claims and expense reimbursements, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policy.
- Identify inefficiencies in existing accounting processes and implement technology and automation solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
- Perform other ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ISCA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in full-set accounting.
- Experience in the payments industry, settlements or reconciliation processes is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to apply them in a dynamic business environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Positive attitude, resilience, and a proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in process improvement and automation.
