We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Student Discipline Officer (SDO)/Discipline Aide to support the school's Student Development Department in fostering a safe, caring, and disciplined learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, parents, and external agencies to provide timely intervention, student support, and restorative practices that promote positive behavior and student well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with students during morning engagement, recess, lunch, dismissal, and school patrols.

  • Monitor student behaviour and intervene early to prevent and de-escalate conflicts.

  • Investigate discipline cases by reviewing CCTV footage, conducting student interviews, collecting statements, and preparing factual incident reports.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records, including investigation findings, intervention plans, and follow-up actions.

  • Conduct restorative conversations and facilitate appropriate restorative interventions following behavioural incidents.

  • Support at-risk students through mentoring, monitoring, case management, and collaboration with Year Heads, Form Teachers, School Counsellors, and Student Welfare Officers.

  • Conduct home visits where required to support student welfare and strengthen school-home partnerships.

  • Supervise After-School Detention (ASD) and After-School Intervention (ASI) programmes, including attendance monitoring and parent communication.

  • Patrol school premises and surrounding areas to promote student safety and a positive school culture.

  • Work collaboratively with school staff to support student development and uphold school discipline policies.

  • Perform other student management and administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department or School Leaders.

Requirements

  • Registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE) throughout the contract period.

  • Former MOE Primary School Teacher or possess qualifications in Education, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline.

  • At least 2 years of experience in student welfare, social services, community work, or a primary school environment.

  • Experience in school-based student development, pastoral care, or youth engagement is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of child protection practices, basic counselling techniques, case management, and MOE school operations is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills.

  • Ability to review CCTV footage, conduct structured student interviews, document statements objectively, and prepare accurate incident reports.

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.

  • Calm, patient, fair, and restorative in approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children's social-emotional development.

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
