Barista | up to $14/hr - AA

Our client, a well-established organisation in Singapore, is looking for a friendly and service-oriented Barista to join their food service team.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand customers' coffee preferences, explain the beverage menu and recommend suitable drinks.
• Prepare coffee and other beverages according to established recipes and preparation techniques.
• Monitor and replenish coffee bean supplies as required.
• Sell and serve baked goods and other food items in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Provide customers with information on coffee beans, coffee blends, tea products, bakery items, brewing methods and blended beverages.
• Handle all hot and cold beverages safely during preparation.
• Maintain consistent product quality and adhere to all company drink recipes and procedures.
• Ensure food, garnishing, counter temperatures, displays, serving equipment, merchandising materials and price tags are ready 15 minutes before service.
• Keep all food counters and displays clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensure customers are served promptly and professionally.
• Ensure food is prepared and served in accordance with required hygiene and safety regulations, corporate standards and governmental requirements.
• Serve food according to approved portion sizes and service requirements.
• Attend weekly service meetings to continuously improve service standards.
• Handle customer feedback appropriately and report actions taken to the Unit Manager.
• Ensure the safe operation of cleaning equipment and report any faulty equipment to management.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance and wear the provided uniform.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superior.

Job Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of experience in a similar capacity.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills. Able to convey meaning and obtain understanding.
• Organizational Skills – ability to organise, prioritise and schedule work effectively.
• People Skills – ability to effectively relate to customers and others at all organisational levels while being sensitive to their needs.
• Conceptual Skills – ability to understand overall programme objectives and ensure individual activities support the company's objectives.
• Preferably possess a valid Food Hygiene / Food Safety certification.
• Candidates without a valid certification are also welcome to apply. Training will be provided, subject to a training bond agreement, and successful candidates will be sent for the required course.
