Electrical Engineer (Component testing) (Electronics Manufacturing)

Responsibilities

• Conduct a wide range of electrical tests, adapting test setups and procedures as required while exercising sound technical judgment in measurement, equipment selection, test preparation, execution, and data recording.
• Operate and maintain various electrical and electronic test instruments, including Curve Tracers, Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters (DMM), Source Measure Units (SMU), Signal and Function Generators, Power Device Testers, Impedance and Spectrum Analyzers, LCR Meters, High-Voltage equipment, and other laboratory testing systems.
• Select appropriate test methodologies, interpret test results, identify anomalies, and provide technical recommendations based on findings.
• Perform detailed electrical testing and analysis of passive, active, electronic, and electromechanical components.
• Develop, enhance, and implement testing processes and technical services to support business growth and improve overall operational capabilities.
• Translate complex technical findings into clear information for non-technical stakeholders, including customers, business partners, investors, and other interested parties.
• Collaborate with Sales, Quality, and Operations teams to understand customer RFQs, evaluate technical requirements, and determine compliance with customer specifications.
• Provide technical and applications support to customers, including participation in customer audits, technical discussions, and engineering exchanges.
• Stay informed of the latest technologies, methodologies, and industry practices related to electronic component authentication and counterfeit prevention.
• Conduct periodic reviews of laboratory equipment, testing capabilities, and internal processes to identify new technologies and recommend improvements to management.
• Evaluate and compare test results to determine whether electronic components meet acceptance criteria, providing clear recommendations for acceptance, rejection, or further investigation.
• Participate in customer visits and technical meetings, providing engineering advice, troubleshooting assistance, and technical support.
• Develop comprehensive electrical test plans and conduct electrical testing, diagnostic assessments, and failure analysis activities.
• Mentor and coach team members to strengthen individual technical skills and improve overall engineering capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with a strong background in the semiconductor, electronics, or electronic components industry.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in functional and bench-level electrical testing using equipment such as LCR meters, oscilloscopes, and DMMs, with broad knowledge of electronic components for fit, form, and function validation.
• Minimum 2 years of experience developing and determining appropriate testing methods and procedures for a wide range of electronic, electromechanical, and passive components.
• Hands-on experience with National Instruments PXI systems and LabVIEW software.
• Previous experience in Failure Analysis (FA) is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, including ISO/IEC 17025, AS9120, AS6081, AS5553, AS6171, and JEDEC standards, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge and practical understanding of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling procedures and ESD-protected workstation requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, as well as identify the appropriate components, parts, tooling, and equipment required to execute testing activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
