Key Responsibilities
Conduct vocational and functional assessments to identify trainees’ strengths, interests and support needs.
Develop, implement and review Individual Training Plans based on each trainee’s abilities and employment goals.
Plan and deliver vocational, job-readiness and pre-employment training, including workplace behaviour, communication and interview skills.
Develop and customise training materials according to trainees’ learning needs.
Monitor trainees’ progress and adjust training or coaching approaches where necessary.
Provide on-site coaching during internships, work trials, onboarding and the early stages of employment.
Support trainees in managing workplace expectations, challenges and transitions.
Match trainees to suitable job opportunities based on their abilities, interests and support requirements.
Engage employers to understand job scopes, workplace demands and employment expectations.
Advise employers on inclusive employment practices, workplace accommodations, job redesign and job carving.
Maintain regular communication with trainees, caregivers, employers and internal stakeholders.
Participate in case discussions, programme planning and transition reviews.
Maintain accurate records of assessments, training, placements and follow-up support.
Prepare reports on trainee progress, employment outcomes and programme effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with organisational policies, service standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Education or a related discipline.
At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in vocational training, job coaching, disability services or a related field.
Experience working with persons with special needs is preferred.
Additional certification in disability services, vocational training or job coaching will be an advantage.
Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and stakeholder-engagement skills.
Ability to conduct vocational assessments, develop training plans and perform job matching.
Good coordination, problem-solving, documentation and case-management skills.
Knowledge of evidence-based training, coaching and inclusive employment practices.
A genuine passion for empowering persons with special needs through employment.
