Finance Executive

Company Overview

The Singapore Buddhist Lodge (SBL), founded in 1933, promotes Mahayana Buddhism and charitable work including Dharma teaching, bursaries, and affordable medical services to support the community’s spiritual and social well-being.

Position Summary

The Finance Executive supports the Finance Department's day-to-day operations, including fixed asset management, collections reconciliation, finance systems administration, accounts payable processing, treasury coordination, audit support and finance administration. The role also assists in system implementation projects and provides operational support to ensure accurate records, effective controls and smooth finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Fixed Asset Management

• Assist in reconciling and updating old fixed asset numbers against the new fixed asset register.
• Assist in verifying acquired Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) records against physical assets.
• Assist with fixed asset tagging, record maintenance and asset tracking

Collections &Finance Systems

• Perform weekly reconciliation and closing of daily cash collections.
• Upload collection data and reports from the counter system into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC).
• Assist in the implementation of a new counter system and support the integration of income reports into BC.

Accounts Payable &Treasury Support

• Match and update Accounts Payable (AP) invoices in BC and assist with payment processing.
• Assist in liaising with banks on fixed deposit placements.

Other Duties

• Support audit activities and finance administrative functions.
• Provide coverage for finance team members during their absence to ensure operational continuity.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department.

Job Requirements

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Additional relevant qualifications, professional certifications, or higher qualifications will be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
• Possess sound accounting knowledge; experience in system implementation or finance system migration is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a Buddhist religious environment and supporting activities carried out within such an environment.

Working Arrangement

Working arrangement based on operational requirements:

• 5-day work week
• One weekday and one weekend day (either Saturday or Sunday) off each week
• Required to work on Public Holidays when operational needs arise
